MALTA INTERNSHIP
Future Focus’ language and internship programme offers 1-6 months of customised language and internship opportunities for students from all over the world. Most of our past participants have joined internships in marketing, public relations, financial services, tourism, and hotel operations and so on.

Warm, safe and friendly, Malta is the ideal place to brush up your English language skills. All Maltese speak English and many speak Italian, French and German apart from the mother language which is Maltese. The warm and welcoming nature of the people make it a natural location to develop and practice English language skills.

Malta is one of the richest countries in terms of historical sites. It boasts 5000 years of history. Students here can expect to learn about the history and culture of an island which is right in the centre of the Mediterranean. Strategically located between two continents, Malta played an important part in the history of the region.

The Future Focus work placement programme is flexible and designed to be tailor-made to the needs of students. Before coming to Malta, the staff at Future Focus will seek to cooperate with the student in designing the goals and schedule that will be effective for both the employer and the student. Future Focus wants to ensure that the student gets added value from the work placement.

We believe in an open policy. This is a key to effective programmes. Students want to know how well they are doing and we evaluate progress. We identify in which areas the student is doing well and in which areas more work needs to be done. The coordinator is available throughout the programme and the student will feed that he/ she can express freely their concerns if there are any suggestions to make the programme as effective as possible.

Annelie, Sweden:

I spent four months in Malta working at a wedding souvenirshop in Hamrun called 'Pensieri'. It was a great experience for me, both in the way of getting more work experience and learning more about Maltese culture. In Sweden we don't have the same kinds of weddings as the Maltese do, and I'd never heard of wedding souvenirs, so that was one of many new things I learned. I also had a great relationship with my boss, who not only made my workplace a good place to be, but helped me with whatever troubles I might have had and made my stay in Malta even better. She, and the Maltese people in general, are without a doubt the friendliest people I've ever come across and their warmth and the beautiful country itself has been an amazing experience to take part of.

Iwona Borzyszkowska, Poland:

It is a great experience to work for Future Focus. Working here I can apply my theorical knowledge from university in a administrative and marketing field and put it into practice. Living in Malta gives me opportunity to develop my personal interest which is tourism. I can learn about Maltese culture and people living in Malta, admire the beautiful seaside’s every day, snorkeling, walking and enjoying the fests with fireworks in different villages. I made contact with people from work from different countries learning about their own culture. I recommend Future Focus to the other students.

Choosing Malta as a place of my summer internship was definitely an excellent decision. Working for Future Focus Ltd I got to know the differences between running a business in Poland and Malta, opportunity to compare this was the best work experience I could gained! I think that after more than 3 months I spent here I got to know Malta. Apart from sky-blue, warm water, many historical places, heaven for party people- Paceville, unbelievable tasty pastizzi, Malta has traditions I have never seen before- endless fests, churches with colorful lamps and fireworks from 8 o’clock in the morning. And these are only some of the reasons for which I recommend Malta to everybody!

Joerg Bachmann, Germany:

For me it is a great pleasure to work for Future Focus. I like the atmosphere at the office and enjoy my nice time at Malta. It is very interesting to see how the things you have learned in school also stand the test in real life. Although I have to work 5 days a week the time passes so quickly here. I have the opportunity to gain a lot of different experiences in everyday activities especially concerning the culture, traditions and customs of the Maltese people. Thank you very much Future Focus.

With lots of challenging and pressing work, a 3-month internship at Future Focus was anything but a holiday spent within office walls. From the first day on, one had to take responsibilities and show flexibility at this energetic and ambitious work place.

Isabelle Pettazzoni, France:

I was looking for an abroad placement, which could offer to me the opportunity to improve my English speaking in a nice and sunny place. I found in Malta everything I was waiting for… and maybe more!
Working in Future Focus was a very good experience: I discovered the activities of a small and dynamic company leaded by a very active woman… an example for me! My work was to help Rosanne to organize the activities of the training center and also to give some French lessons in hotels or for individuals. Meeting a lot of people, that was easy to improve my English speaking!
After work, I took the famous old Maltese yellow buses and went swimming in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. In the evenings, I made barbecues on the beach and admired the Maltese fireworks. This experience was definitely a good one and I recommend you to do the same!
