Project Management is ideally suited to a wide range of professions and is an effective management strategy which presents exciting challenges to the ambitious professional.
A holistic approach is fundamental to the management of projects and inherent in the programme philosophy is the awareness of the interface relationships of differing aspects of the process and how the process interacts with it’s environment.
The development of knowledge and understanding is derived from study of the key areas of risk, value, finance, procurement, business strategies, law and information technology. Knowledge of these subject areas is developed within the context of differing project environments and the importance of people in achieving project success.
The psychology of project teams, team development, leadership, motivation and conflict are important considerations of the programme.

The Dissertation builds upon the concepts and theories presented during Applied Research Methods. The module will require you to further develop, consolidate and apply you research skills that are expected from a Master’s degree graduate when investigating a relevant issue of your own choice.
You will be required to undertake a piece of analytical, reflective academic research that will result in the production of a 20,000 words original dissertation relevant to your Master’s degree programme.
COURSEWORK ASSESSMENT
The programme consists of a combination of 12 taught modules and a dissertation worth the equivalent of six (research-based) modules. The taught modules are assessed by a combination of examination and coursework.

Standard Entry:
The programme is demanding and is designed to stretch the intellectual and personal capabilities of those who are selected and also to build on their experience.
Candidates should have an honours degree in a built environment discipline or an equivalent professional qualification with experience in the industry. Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on merit by the admissions tutor, but should demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience in the built environment at a full-time professional level.
Admission procedures normally include an interview for home students. Applicants whose first language is not English should provide evidence of their ability in spoken and written English by the submission of an acceptable English test certificate, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent.
