COURSE INFORMATION
The programme is delivered through a set of modules. These consist of four core modules:
Databases
Web Programming and Management
Systems Analysis and Design
Project Management and Research Methods.
On successful completion of these four modules, students are eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate. Normally, however, students study a further four modules to progress to the award of the Postgraduate Diploma. The current list of modules available through distance learning include:
Strategic Management and Information Systems
IT Consultancy Practice
Human Computer Interaction
Social an Current Issues in Computing.
To complete the full programme and be awarded the MSc, students will undertake a dissertation project.
CAREERS
Careers within the IT industry are not restricted to graduates with compute-related degrees. This programme offers a route to a postgraduate qualification for non-computing graduates. The opportunity is provided to gain the skills and knowledge required to commence or enhance a number of career paths within the computing industry.
Students will graduate with the latest software skills and may take up a variety of careers in the IT industry, such as software engineering, systems analyst, website design and management, IT consultancy and IT software training , or they may return to their previous field of expertise with a greater understanding of nature, capabilities and limitations of computer systems.

It is also possible to complete this course on an attendance basis over 3 years part-time or 1 year full-time.

Standard Entry:
Applicants should normally have a good non-computing honours degree, or its equivalent, or professional qualifications that are equivalent to an honours degree.
Exceptionally, application will be considered from those with other qualifications and/or relevant experience.
Other:
Overseas applicants should be able to demonstrate competence in the English language to a level equivalent to IELTS 6.5
