Health & Fitness Courses Level 2

CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH AND FITNESS

INTRODUCTION:
To develop individuals to a competent level in order to plan and carry out exercise programs mostly within a gym environment in a safe manner.

LENGTH of COURSE:
The Fitness Instructor course and the Personal trainer courses need a minimum of 240 hours each of study and practicals in the gym. However different time frames will be allowed to tailor make the course to the needs of the individual. Therefore it is important that you either phone Future Focus or contact your assigned tutor to get advice whether you can do the course according to your available time. You will be required (for Maltese residents) to spend some time face to face with your tutor- a minimum requirement is 5 tutorials of about 2 hours each. The rest you will be able to study from home with the help of your tutor, your textbook, skype, e-mail or any other system which is to be agreed to with your tutor.

Pre Requisite:
Pre-requisites for Fitness instructor: None. However we do recommend a good understanding of English and a passion for fitness. You will sit for a Level 2 exam, once you pass you will be able to sit for Level 3 exam. Pass mark is 50% in all exam sections.

Pre-Requisites Personal Trainer- A Pass in Fitness Instructor and a high level achievement in all skills and competencies of the practicals done in the Fitness Instructor course.

Minimum AGE:
For Level2 onwards minimum age is 16 years.

THE COURSE LEADS TO:
The students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology, plan gym sessions, practice good customer service and be able to progress to level 3 and level 4 accordingly after having passed Level 2. From Level 2 onwards you can work in the fitness industry with Level 4 being the most respected and equivalent to the Personal trainer competencies. We advise you that personal Trainers require not just the First aid course as explained but also a good insurance. Ask Future Focus for further assistance on insurance in the Fitness business.

Please note that we recommend you also do a first aid course with a respected authority in the field as this is a requirement in the industry.

The first week you will be covering material with your tutor so you get a good guideline to what and how you need to study, then you can continue studying at home with online help from our tutor till you sit for your tests and exams.
