MCIBS Qualified?
Would you like to add an Honours Degree to your professional qualification?

If you have answered YES to these questions, the BANKING PATHWAY could be for you.

The Banking Pathway enables members of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland (MCIBS) to obtain a B.A. Honours Degree in Financial Services after 9 months part-time study by distance learning. 

Who can apply?
The only pre-requisite is that you hold the MCIBS qualification.

What will I study?
You have to complete two distance learning modules and a 10,000 word dissertation on a subject of your choice.  The modules you are required to take are:

Semester One (October – January)

  • Money & Finance

Semester Two (February – May)

  • One module from the following four options:
  • The Economics of Corporate Financing
  • Management of Financial Institutions
  • Investment Analysis and Funds Management
  • Corporate Risk Management

How long will it take?
The programme runs from October to June with graduation in July.

Where do I study?
Wherever you are.  The programme is run on a distance learning basis supported by study guides provided by the University.  Back-up is available through three Saturday morning tutorials per module which are run at the University but are entirely optional.
