Programme Overview
This programme was developed after extensive consultation with the various constituent parts of the Scottish financial sector regarding the structure of the programme, placement opportunities and the knowledge and skills required by graduates. The programme lays the foundation for a responsible career in the financial services industry, whether in a bank, building society or insurance company, or in more specialist area such as investment funds management or stockbroking.
Career Opportunities
Banking, insurance and the other activities which make up the financial sector are a significant component of the Scottish economy and provide substantial employment opportunities. Graduates may apply to join the graduate training programme of one of the financial institutions and may make early progress within the management structure of the institution and towards the achievement of a professional qualification.
Programme Structure
The programme is intended to provide an in-depth understanding of the financial system and economic theory relevant to its workings for students interested in employment in the financial sector. The first two years provide a foundation in business subjects and introduce specialist studies in economics and financial services.
