COURSE INFORMATION
This course is designed to enable those who have a good standard of degree, normally 2.1 or better, in another subject area to enter work as a trainee Minerals Surveyor and at the same time study a recognised programme whilst registering for the APC. It is proposed that this new course will be included in the School of Built Environment's RICS Partnership Agreement.
In Year 1 and 2,students undertake 5 modules in:
- Introduction to Law
- Real Estate Professional Practice
- Economics and Business Environment
- Sustainable Futures
- Geology and Resource Development
In Year 3, students will undertake 4 modules in:
- Work Base Project
- Minerals Law and Estate Management
- Minerals Valuation
- Minerals Planning
A diploma in Higher Education (Public Services Management) will be awarded on successful completion of the first year study.

Standard Entry:
This course is aimed at people working in the public or voluntary sectors. Admission to the programme in September will be based on interview, evidence of work-based experience, commitment to continuing professional development and any previous qualifications.
